“Someone to Love” – Stephen Marley
Stephen Robert Nesta “Raggamuffin” Marley (born April 20, 1972) is a Jamaican American musician and the son of reggae legend Bob Marley and his wife Rita Marley. Marley was born in Wilmington, Delaware and raised primarily in Kingston, Jamaica. Stephen produced much of his brother Damian Marley’s three solo albums, most notably 2005’s Welcome to Jamrock, on which he also performed on the tracks “All Night,”, “Pimpa’s Paradise,”, “For the Babies,” and “Hey Girl”. Marley has won 5 Grammy Awards, most recently Best Reggae Album for his newest album, Revelation Pt. 1: The Root of Life.
“Someone to Love,” was a bonus track on the Best Buy edition of Mind Control (unavailable on iTunes), which was released in March 2007. Marley’s first album, Mind Control was a massive success earning Best Reggae Album and planting Marley firmly as a fixture in the Reggae genre. The melody is beautiful and haunting, and I have found myself with this song stuck in my mind for days on end. Stephen has continued the stunning tradition of superb reggae music, and the Marleys continue to shape reggae with their talent and passion.
