“Fixin to Die Rag” – Country Joe and the Fish

There’s that old adage “the more things change, the more they stay the same.”  Here we are, in 2012, and the song Joe McDonald wrote in 1965 about Vietnam is as appropriate today’s situation as is it was then.

Pathetic.

Here’s what Country Joe says about this song:

I was raised in a family of American Communists and so I knew a lot about Capitalism and Communism. The song attempts to put blame for the war upon the politicians and leaders of the US military and upon the industry that makes its money from war but not upon those who had to fight the war …
