Blind Faith – “Can’t Find My Way Home”, 1969
Blind Faith debuted after the breakup of the super-group Cream in 1968. Comprised of Eric Clapton, Ginger Baker, Steve Winwood and Ric Grech, this group became an instant hit not only on the English blues scene, but also in the USA. The first album, entitled simply Blind Faith, held the #1 spot on Billboard in the US and the UK upon its release in August of 1969.
The original cover art, created by photographer Bob Seidemann, caused tremendous controversy in 1969 and an alternative cover was issued featuring a photo of the band.
The band broke up after a brief tour and several engagements, and all the members went on their own paths. Clapton and Winwood appeared in the movie The Blues Brothers in 2000 and reunited multiple times between then and now to play short tours and gigs. The former Blind Faith members performed a 15-date tour in Japan in November & December 2011.
