“5 Years Time” – Noah & The Whale

Todays write up comes from Mara Rettig of Somerville, MA.  This is Mara’s second post, and she brings us this folk jam from over the pond.  Enjoy!

“5 Years Time” is an upbeat folk song from the London-based band Noah and the Whale. This sunny tune was released in 2007 as a single from the band’s first album Peaceful, The World Lays Me Down and surprisingly didn’t make the charts upon its first release. A year later, (thankfully!) the band decided to re-release the track and it immediately became popular in the UK.
I have to admit that my favorite part of this song is it’s music video, a love story of 1980s boy-scout uniforms, bad hair and a zoo. The old-style film, quirky subtitles and dance moves make me want to watch a Wes Anderson movie (Moonrise Kingdom anyone?) and I can guarantee that this video will make you smile.
Cheers!
